The Jewel Chronicles

E.M. Sinclair brought me on to edit these books after she'd written the first installment, Unveiled. What originally began as a draft sent over to give me something to read quickly became my first editing job. For the next three years, E. and I lovingly sent comments back and forth over various manuscripts for the last two novels. The story formed between E's unbeatable imagination and my own incessant attention to continuity and detail. More is coming from this author-editor duo!

Leading Through Inflation:
Recession and Stagnation

The Fem Word

While I don't get my grubby little editorial fingers on everything that The Fem Word posts, I have touched a large swathe of content over there! I work with all members of the incredible staff at various intervals to clean up and polish their amazing work, edit transcripts from interviews, and fact check pieces. The topics are vast, and I always learn something from the pieces I work on. Check out the platform here.

Leading Through Inflation by Ram Charan and Geri Willigan is one of the latest works from Ideapress. I was the proofreader for the book in its final stages before publication. Click here for more info.

Original Work

I have a special understanding of the editing process because I am also a writer. I know the painstaking care it takes to write an original piece, and nothing is worse than having an editor come through and slash everything you liked about your work. Since I'm a grad student, I spend a lot of time writing. Sometimes, I am convinced to crawl out of my hole and publish something for the general audience that isn't mired in academic language. Some of my favorite pieces, "The Notorious PUF: Lessons in American Transness" and "Irish Keens, Modern Grief, and the Digital Landscape of Mourning," can be found on The Fem Word and Nursing Clio, respectively.
